Maison Madeleine

A Centennial House

Maison Madeleine is the love at first sight of a French woman for the building of a 19th century shipowner in the heart of the discreet charm of the Aegean island of Poros. A small green island of pines, olive and lemon trees, at the foot of the Peloponnese and only an hour from the Port of Piraeus, for a night’s stay, a weekend for two, an anchor point for visiting the region, or a few days of tranquility.

Inspiring several artists, the painter Lucian Freud, the writer Henri Miller or the Greek poet George Seferis, who describes Poros in these words: “The canal, a communication between houses and boats, pomp, nonchalance, sensual temptation, something aesthetic, a place for lovers of the world, which produces magic.”
